Professor Wafik El-Deiry

MD, PhD, FACP

brings exceptional scientific stature, translational insight, and oncology leadership as Chairman of Sidocel’s Scientific Board. A world-renowned physician-scientist, cancer center director, and medical oncologist, Dr. El-Deiry has shaped modern cancer biology through seminal discoveries in the p53 pathway, p21/WAF1, DR5/TRAIL signaling, apoptosis, and therapeutic resistance. His record includes more than 500 peer-reviewed publications and over 118,000 Google Scholar citations, reflecting exceptional scientific influence. Importantly, his laboratory discovered and advanced ONC201/TIC10, now dordaviprone/Modeyso, an FDA-approved therapy for progressive H3 K27M-mutant diffuse midline glioma. His rare bench-to-bedside success provides invaluable guidance as Sidocel advances novel immunotherapies for GI malignancies and other solid tumors.

Professor Lance Liotta

MD, Ph.D (clinical principal investigator)

Since 2005 Dr. Liotta has served as Co-Director and Co-Founder of the Center for Applied Proteomics and Molecular Medicine (CAPMM) at George Mason University. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Liotta served as Chief of the Laboratory of Pathology, NCI, Deputy Director of NIH, Co-Director of the NCI/FDA Clinical Proteomics Program. His clinical research in immune-oncology applying the technology to the discovery of markers for early-stage disease, individualized therapy for metastatic cancer, and adjuvant therapy of premalignant breast cancer and PDAC. Dr. Liotta has more than 100 issued or allowed patents and more than 690 publications. He is an ISI highly cited investigator (over 300,000 citations).
